Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are your hours?

I offer therapy sessions by appointment between 9:30 am and 1:30 pm (Eastern) or 6:30am and 10:30am (Pacific) on weekdays. At this time, I am not able to provide evening or weekend appointments.

If you need support outside these hours, feel free to inquire — I’ll do my best to suggest options that fit your schedule.

How long are therapy sessions?

Standard individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes — a timeframe that aligns with professional best practices and gives us space for meaningful, focused work.

For clients interested in deeper processing or trauma work, EMDR intensives are available and can be scheduled for up to 4 hours in a single session when clinically appropriate.

Where do sessions take place?

All therapy sessions are currently offered online via a secure, confidential video platform. This means you can attend from a private space — home, office, or other quiet setting — without needing to travel.

I am licensed to practice in Georgia and California, so online sessions are available for adults in those states.

Do you only work with adults?

Yes — I work exclusively with adult clients. If you’re looking for support for a minor or child, I’m happy to provide referrals to trusted professionals who specialize in that population.

How do I schedule a session?

Scheduling is simple and flexible:

  • Online scheduling tool: Pick a time that works for your calendar

  • Email or text: Contact me directly if you prefer to coordinate personally

I also offer a complimentary 15‑minute consultation to answer your questions and help you decide if we’re a good fit. This is often especially helpful for busy professionals who want clarity before committing.

What can I expect in a session?

Therapy is a collaborative, confidential experience focused on your goals. Sessions may include:

  • Support for anxiety, stress, or perfectionism

  • Exploration of thoughts, emotions, and patterns

  • Practical tools for lasting change

  • EMDR work when appropriate for trauma processing

Each session is tailored to your needs and the pace that feels right for you.

How often should I attend therapy?

While frequency is individualized, many clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and continuity. Over time, frequency can be adjusted based on your goals and schedule.

How much does therapy cost, and do you take insurance?

Please visit the Cost page for detailed information about session fees and payment options. I work as an out‑of‑network provider, which means:

  • I do not bill insurance directly, but

  • I provide superbills you can submit to your insurer for out‑of‑network reimbursement if available.

This private‑pay model offers greater flexibility, privacy, and a more personalized therapeutic experience.

Is online therapy effective?

Yes — research shows that online therapy can be as effective as in‑person counseling for many concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma work, and stress management. Many clients find virtual sessions more convenient and easier to fit into a busy life without sacrificing connection or depth.

What technology do I need for online therapy?

You’ll need:

  • A reliable internet connection

  • A private, quiet space

  • A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera

Your privacy and comfort are top priorities, and I’ll guide you through any technical questions as needed.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy is often helpful if you feel:

  • Overwhelmed by stress or anxiety

  • Stuck in patterns you want to change

  • Ready to explore deeper self‑understanding

  • In need of a supportive space to process life transitions

If you’re unsure, the free consultation is a great way to explore your goals and whether this type of therapy feels like a good fit.

Can I stop anytime?

Yes — therapy is voluntary, and you have full control over the pace and duration of work. I will always aim for clarity and collaboration about goals and progress, and many clients find this supports more meaningful outcomes.
